Voice is muted when I choose 6 speakers..

I'm using the latest VIA HD Audio Deck version 6.0.1.7400 my chipset is VIA VT1708B

I have Logitech x-540 (5.1) surround sound. On the "Speaker settings and test" tab, when I'm on 6 (they count my sub as 1 I guess), and on when i'm on mic on aim, vent, etc, voice will not come through the headset. When I switch to 4, or 2, the sound is fine, but this makes for quiet an annoyance of having to switch from 6 to 4 every time I get on mic

Any suggestions? :/

Try plugging headset into alternate output. Perhaps it's currently plugged into rea l+r instead of frontal l+r? Or something along those lines...

Actually, my headphones and front jacks are plugged into a Y connector. I'm pretty sure the problem is it's trying to redirect the voice into the Center, EVEN when my speakers are off. This never happened in windows xp sp2 for me.
