"Open with" appearing every time i click on sound file

Hello,
as the title says, the "open with" window always opens when i open a sound file since i upgraded my OS a few days ago. This seems to happen with every possible sound extension.
Trying around and searching online didn't yield anything.

It's really a minor problem, but help would be appreciated anyways.

You need to choose a default program to open the file, then you won`t be bothered anymore.

Hello Bierb, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Using the tutorial below to set Windows Media Player as the default program of all of it's associations should take care of this for you.

Thanks, but i already tried both of those resolutions in my "trying around".
To clarify this, i DID tick "always open files of this type", but the window still opens every time. I also noticed that the "open with" option is bold in the right click menu, which i will assume means it is set as the default action when opening a file.

In that case, see if downloading and merging the .reg files for the affected file extensions in the tutorial below may help. It will restore the default associations for each one.
