I have a hp pavilion laptop which was running through window xp but now I made a change to window 7 every thing works fine except audio ac'97 can't start what shall i do please help me
Try the steps here love2us: ZV6000 Audio x64 solved These are the steps that I took to get audio working on my HP Pavilion zv6000, and another user for his HP Pavilion zd8000, so it is a pretty universal solution for ac'97 on win7 x64. (It is universal since the zv6000 is an AMD desktop-cpu-in-a-laptop platform with conexant ac'97 and the zd8000 is mobile P4 with intel IHC6 ac'97, so chances are you will fall somewhere in that range of configs )

hope that helps, let us know results. make sure to use the poll on ZV6000 Audio x64 solved as well

    Hp dv1660se sound issue resolved

It took me countless hours to finally fix the sound problems for HP DV1660 and probably DV1000 laptops.

Click on the link below and click on the first link posted. Download the driver and the sound should be fixed. :)

Here are some updates on the stutter problem. Both solutions were picked up from the Windows 7 Beta Microsoft TechNet Forum.

You can change the speaker settings to 16 bit, 22059 Hz (AM Radio Quality) but you will loose some in the sound. If you have lousy speakers it won't matter.

The best solution is to download the conexant ac97-61410599.exe driver file. Open this file using WinRAR (WinZip won't work). Extract camc6aud.sys and camc6hal.sys. Rename them camcaud.sys and camchal.sys (in short, remove the 6 from the filename. Copy these files to c:\windows\system32\drivers\.

Be sure to reboot the system so the new drivers will load.
I can't wait to try this solution. Does this mean that you guys have had success with the ATI Mobility Radeon X6 Dispaly Adapter? I certainly can't use that one, and the Microsoft Standard VGA Graphics Adapter streches the screen width.

There are no drivers for the Mass Storage Controller, or PCI Modem. Any bright solutions would be welcome.

Conexant 61410599 won't work on Pavilion zd8000 Noteboo

    I downloaded this file,
    extracted the files with WinRAR,
renamed the two files by removing the (6), then
    copied them to Windows>system32>drivers.
Lastly, I then rebooted. But..still I have no sound.

    What am I not doing?!

I am using gigabyte in built realtedk audio chip, it was working fine with XP2 & XP3 but it gives a little lower sound with windows 7 and also the Bass is very low. I used all latest drivers from gigabyte and realtek as well, but the problem is same. I am using John Barrel's 5.1 Home theatre and it was working fine with my previous Windows. I love windows 7 & and i dont want to quit.
    Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees HELP!
Is there an option you can 'check' which says allow "full range" speaker (poss where dolby digital setup menu is)?
That pumps full digital range/bass thru your headphone/speakers.

    Check thru your menus!

Don't take this wrong way, but did you actually go through and install the driver for the device (via device manager)?

Its been a while since I did my HP laptop and my notes are fussy.
I used SP43509 (TI Card Reader Vista 64) and it worked.
I used SP35736 (PCI Modem vista 64) and had to add the ID to the inf file. Check the inf files on these two and see if they match your ID's
