Please help me: SB X-Fi Xteme Gamer

Sorry guys if i post again but i got no answer and i realized i gave incorrect informations.

My problem is the following: I followed exactly everything what was written in other posts withou any kind of success. The sound is utterly bad, not clean, it screeches a lot, i also found that as soon as i start any kind of application (I.e. Dragon Age or Aion) the sound vanishes completely and everything is muted.

I've downloaded everything, uninstalled my audio card at least 10 times with no results, they system also does not find it if i uninstall it and i restart.

Today the audio card also led my PC to boot failure, solved as soon as i uninstalled it.

My mobo is a M2N4-SLI from Asus, O/S is Windows 7 Ultimate (coming from Vista Home Premium 32) please help me!!

i have this card & installing it was a complete pig.... (SB0770)

has the card ever worked, on a prior OS..??

are you using the drivers on the disc..??

what audio connections are you using ...(analogue / digital)

is the card a recent purchase..?? (new / used)

do you have full access to the ''X-FI control panel''

ON Vista 32 it was working without any problem

The Drivers on the disc cannot be used anymore and don't know why Win 7 does not allow me to run the cd (how can i completely wipe everything about the card?)

Don't know about the connection how can i find it?

The card is no more than 6 months old

X-Fi functionality are broken the system tells me there's no device and if i try again it opens but nothing changes.

About the drivers: I used in order: 1) Win 7 auto update 2) X-Fi SUpport Pack 2 3) official creative drivers

Don't really know what to do, can you make me a short step-by-step guide?

ok...... im no soundcard expert, it took me 4 days to properly get this card configured in my rig..

forget the disc drivers, they wont run on ''7''

    try this.....

uninstall any ''creative'' software from your programs directory

reboot into ''safe mode'', then remove the soundcard drivers from the ''device manager''

    reboot.....

let this run to desktop, it should then detect the add in PCI device, after that it should report ''creative SB X-Fi''.

    reboot...

again go through to desktop, the updater should then start.... install all programs from the updater....& then reboot if prompted.

i had to keep trying to install the drivers as the card seemed very intermittent (it was there one minute & gone the next ) until the drivers were installed.

what cables are you running for the sound ..?? (analogue.. red/white) (stereo headphone jack) (optical / digital / SPDIF / TOSlink)

the fist two run off the default sound device provided by windows, the last on will require you to manually switch the default device to SPDIF connection, might of changed when you upgraded the OS.

hope this helps in some way........

will try and let you know :) anyway i'm using together with the card the Creative Dolby Surround 5.1 linked to the card with three jacks, in order from the right to the left: Yellow, Black, Green, it always worked like that.

Are these the cable are you talking about?

yes, that's them..... you should be ok, the SPDIF settings are no longer relevant (unless its switched itself to SPDIF in the ''sound properties'' & your using analog) might be worth a look.
