Those using HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC and/or HP Pavilion Beats Special Edition Notebook PC can obtain an HP version of the Realtek audio 7378 driver from this HP site instead of from Microsoft Update Catalog as the HP version contains both 32bit & 64bit editions of the 7378 drivers with an EXE setup installer and Microsoft only has the 64bit version and not the 32bit version.

Just recently posted on Microsoft Update Catalog: 6.0.1.7385 dated 11/13/2014 - for x64 Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 only

May be a silly question but... are this drivers compatible with my laptop? here is the Hardware ID just in case:
    Code:
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_1025021B&REV_1002
The 888 may have a hint, so if the latest drivers support ALC888S, this might work, but I would like to be sure...

    Thanks in advance

yes FerchogtX the Realtek audio drivers, even the newest one from Microsoft (v7385) are compatible with your ALC888S audio device on your laptop. They should install with the HDXRT.INF file since the hardware device ID begins with HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888. So you're good to go.

I must be missing something because when I add the driver to my basket in the Windows Update Catalog and then go to my basket it claims that there are no updates in my basket. Lol.

And when I used option two to download it directly from the realtek site, it says "Accept agreement?" and when you hit yes and continue it says, "Object moved HERE." You click HERE and it takes you right back to the agreement page in a loop. Hahaha.

Maybe this updated driver just isn't meant for me. (x

Nice! Then I would probably upgrade if for some reason I get problems with my current ones.
    Thanks for the answer

there's probably something wrong with your Internet Explorer web browser (or your internet connection) on your machine. try clearing the IE browser cache first, then run IE in administrator mode (or disable UAC and then run IE). I can add the Realtek drivers from Microsoft Update Catalog and download them fine on all my Win7/Win8 computers.

The Realtek R2.75 audio driver package contains version 6.0.1.7246 of the drivers. Microsoft has version 6.0.1.7385 of the Realtek audio drivers, which kevo was looking for.

If you are using Windows 7 x64 edition and using a 64bit version of Internet Explorer 10 or 11, disable either UAC (user account control) or turn off "enhanced protected mode" in the Advanced tab of Internet Options. I did actually encounter problems downloading drivers from Microsoft Update Catalog in IE with "enhanced protected mode" option turned on. Disabling that made the Microsoft Update Catalog site work properly again. Here's the direct link to the 7385 drivers as you can download this with any browser.

    Hi,
I have tried this link three days back and installed the same without any problem from the Realtek.com. After, going to that link select 228 mb or suitable to your system bits, for 32 or 64size file to download and it will download without any problem from us link, given in that page, when you receive the microsoft warning about uncertified downloads, just click yes and click the UAC to proceed the download. It was working marvellously. Would it not be better if you choose Realtek drivers from their site. I just downloaded for windows 7 and it perfectly works on audio mike and everything. Try and then report, kkivo
