Realtek audio issue with build 7600

I went from xp to Windows 7. I have a custom built machine. alivesata2-glan board with realtek alc888 on board. I installed build 7600 on it and I cannot get the audio to work. I have the red x in the bottom right. It says no audio output device installed. The DM gives me a code 10. I have tried downloading the latest driver directly from realtek and had no success. I also tried installing it in safe mode and vista compatibility mode. Any other ideas?

    A possible approach?

Found this program called DPC Latency Checker which measures the kernel level latency which has a big role in delivery of realtime data for things like sound playback.

    DPC Latency Checker

I had very high latent of around 16,000 microsec at each interval. After disabling as many drivers as possible, I could not find the one causing the problem. I started disabling services, and found that an energy saver included with my gigabyte mainboard (GEST Service) was causing the huge latency. After disabling that service, at idle, the system showed low latency and no more pops in the sound.

When there is a load on the system, I see a spike in the latency and the sound starts to crackle again. I suspect one of the system drivers is to blame, but don't know how to troubleshoot any further. At least it's an improvement so far!

    Anyone have any thoughts?

    My system:
    Gigabyte EP45-UD3L
    Intel Q8200
    4 GB ram
    Win 7 32bit
    Nvidia 9800GT

Is the Realtek HDMI_R235 driver download new? If so, how does it relate to the ATI video card High Definition Audio Device driver?

I have a Dell Vostro, it has the onboard Realtek HD Audio,

I have tried every version of Realtek HD Drivers available.

Running Windows 7 64 bit OS

The driver seems to be working great, but when I plug in speakers, front or rear, it do not detect them, please help.
