I learn something new.
Your sound card has nothing to do with HDMI audio bypass.
When you connect HDMI to your stereo receiver, it connect the audio and the video to your receiver and your receiver decode the audio and pass the video to your HDTV or projector.
So even if you buy a X-fi Soundblaster or whatever its of no use. It is only good for your 3.5mm jack stereo speaker!
Yes you can use SPDIF coaxial or optical from your soundcard, but why? Just use HDMI to pass it to your receiver and it does the rest.
Is anyone having a problem with their ALC658 chipset? I bought a motherboard that came out of a Compaq with that chipset and am having no luck using the Realtek drivers. No audio whatsoever. Also, I'm trying to manually install the .inf files and Windows 7 doesn't recognize any devices to install from the .infs in the drivers which say they support ALC658. Any help would be appreciated.
R2.68 is now available.
