I usually download the 64bit exe version which requires you to run the exe twice once to uninstall the old version then reboot then again to install the new version and reboot again. This time after uninstalling and rebooting after loggging in it automatically re run the installer and installed it without me having to find the download again to do it manually.Anyone else notice this.Nice addition

I'm using the Realtek HD audio, version 6.0.1.5995 which I downloaded from MSI's website. (My PC is MSI's GX740)
Sometimes I tend to notice that my Winamp for example doesn't work, I check the driver and it says that it's ment for Windows Vista. Even though it's downloaded from my own manufactors site.

I was wondering could I install this version of Realtek HD Audio driver? My drivers release date is 2010-09-20 so it's quite old already... Will it work? The Realtek site says something about it might not working and advising to download only from the manufactors site.

Hopefully it will work better for you than that older one.

nice update! 5.1 working just great on JetAudio with this driver. All you have to do is: (you need to buy Plus VX to have these features)

Turn off - Realtek HD Speaker fill

Jetaudio

* Turn on X-Surround (Default)
* Turn on X-bass (12+)
* Turn on BBE VIVA (58+)
* Turn off BBE Wide, Reverb

* go to preference> Sound> 32bit Output (high resolution), enable Dynamic Limiter & DRC (Dynamic Range control)
Sound>multichannel>enable multichannel sound, Change X-surround mode to normal surround (Wide Rear)

* Preference>File>Enable AGC to normalize volume while playback

* Preference>Advanced>Decoder>MPEG Audio Decoder>config> select new mp3 decoder - 64bit floating point decoder

Sound is better with these settings, I hope it works for you too. ;)

mic doesn't work anymore

I downloaded and installed successfully this R 2.57 driver as Realtek High Definition Update (not proposed yet by MS) and the old driver was removed also, but now my Skype does not connect and says "cannot access your soundcard", so the mic of the laptop (Acer Aspire) does not work. Positive is that the Stereo-mix works now. I use Vista H.P.+SP2. What to do?

hi, this is solved. I made a system reset to the original driver and it works again (not stereo-mix of course) ☺
