Looks like Realtek has dramatically slicked-up the new skin when installing 2.70 driver package on a mobo/chip that is very recent.
dsperber... how do you get those interfaces? I've just installed an (original) Intel DZ77GA-70K motherboard and am only getting a very limited interface for the Realtek Audio Manager.

Have tried uninstalling completely, installing an older Gigabyte download, installing from the newer Gigabyte drivers, etc., etc.

No matter what i do, i just keep getting the attached image.

I have a thread here, Realtek Audio on Intel DZ77GA-70K - no controls where fireberd has tried to help.

But, whatever i do i keep getting the attached screen and not the Audio manger options.

    TIA....

Well first, I don't have an Intel Z77 board, nor do I have a Realtek ALC899 chip in my board.

Instead, I have an ASUS P8Z77-V Pro board, which has a Realtek ALC892 chip. And I have a second machine which has an ASUS P5Q3 board which has a Realtek ALC1200 chip.

The HD Audio driver package for my P8Z77 machine came directly from the ASUS site, from the downloads available for the P8Z77-V Pro for "audio". In particular this shows up as 6.0.1.6699 (shown dated 9/26/2012 on the ASUS site) once installed. This download didn't come from the Realtek site but is the one which has the surprising black "skin" you see in my post above for that machine.

The official Realtek site was the source for the 2.70 driver installed on my second P5Q3 machine, and it shows up 6.0.1.6662 (dated 6/22/2012 on the Realtek site) and has the standard "skin" you see in my second set of screenshots in my post above, for that machine.

Interestingly, the latest audio download available from the ASUS downloads for my P5Q3 is only 6.0.1.5859 (dated 7/27/2009 on the ASUS site), which is obviously not close to the latest 2.70 6.0.1.6662 available from the Realtek site. Obviously ASUS has stopped updated the downloads for the old P5Q3 board.

But then the Realtek site does not have the 6.0.1.6699 version dated 9/26 available for this board from ASUS itself. Perhaps ASUS has a pre-release of might be coming out eventually from Realtek itself. Don't know. Nevertheless, there's no question the ASUS driver (which might well work on your Intel Z77 board, but who know) is newer (9/26) than Realtek's (6/22), and a later build version (6699) than the Realtek build (6662).

Otherwise, I find it very odd that you don't show a "sound effects" tab on your SPEAKERS group items.

It is the "sound effects" which supports the graphic 10-band EQ is where you set tone control, which I assumed was available through ALL Realtek chips, so it's a real surprise to me that for some reason you don't have "sound effects" tab and thus also don't have EQ/tone control.

Anyway, that's all I know. I wasn't prepared for the black "skin" in that 6699 driver package from the ASUS download, but there it is.

Thanks for that but where on earth is the link for the download...? Going to Support, identifying the product and clicking on Download, just brings me back to the same page!
