Don't know, only have had the HD hooked since I built this build. I'd have to go in and switch the connections on the mobo and in the bios to check.

thank you guys
I tried different drivers for weeks and now it just simply solved. woohooooo
Click on the little "i" icon at the bottom right there on your realtek panel, right above the OK button, and show us what it says.
I found a file in the driver named Setup.ini
it says:
[Driver Package Version]
PackageVersion = PG230
DriverPackageVersion = R1.64
Anyone who has the same problem may download this version and give it a try.
Hi all, I've been following the cackle/static/pop thread but am wondering if anyone here has found a fix for it? Running win7-64, driver v2.39, 4gb ram... Have tried everything including: reducing memory, rolling back drivers, and different settings in audio manager.
Having a little bit of a problem with the Realtek driver too. got an LG R480 notebook and im getting frequent mouse/audio skips.
anything sound related coming out of the computer comes out botched as a result. device manager says its the latest realtek driver. un/reinstalling it doesn't do anything either, would a vista driver work properly or is it something else, seeing the mouse does the same thing.
