    Windows media player 12

Please help – I am running w-7 home premium. I tried using wmp today and got this message:

“the file wmploc.dll has a version number of 12.0.7601.18840 where 12.0.7601.18741 was expected. Windows media player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled. Do you want to reinstall the player from the Microsoft website?”

Well of course I do so I tried and got this message……………..

“Windows media player 12 will not play on your computer”. Happy happy joy joy.

WMP 12 came installed on my computer and has worked just fine up until today.

I can't uninstall it to reinstall it (unless i am missing something)..

    Anyone???? thank you in advance

You should try to reinstall it like is this guide by removing it from features, rebooting, then re-enabling it.

What happens if you hit start button, then type turn off windows, then click on the "turn off windows features" does it open the window properly and can you post a pic of how it is blank please.
