No sound at all (see event log )

Hello, I am back with a problem that was once before here, but now I have found more evidence of the problem in the events log .

The sound works perfect with exterior speakers plugged in, the sound of the laptop alone is completely dead.
Also the little sounds you get when starting up and opening things.

This next info I found in :

Your first statement about works OK with external speakers but not internal is the clue to the problem. The sound chip is working OK or you wouldn't get sound when you plug in external speakers. Thus I would suspect a problem either with the internal speaker connection to the motherboard or sound board or a problem with the headphone/speaker jack. On many systems there is a "normal through" contact in the jack and if that does not make connection when there is nothing plugged in there will not be any internal sound.

Thanks Fireberd,

For coming off the beach ( ) for me and taking your time to look at my problem.

So, does that mean than that it is a hardware problem ? If so I can live with that, for the rest the laptop is fine.

If it is a software problem I like to sort it out this time, - with help - is possible ?

Cheers,

It looks like a hardware problem to me. The external speaker works which says the sound is working. Just the internal speakers are not working and one of two potential problems that I pointed out in my first post.

Anak, here is the full description of the Audio Service. It likely is not device driver related issue and considering that you already know external speakers work I am hoping that by working together we might make Thelma happy soon.

Manages audio for Windows-based programs. If this service is stopped, audio devices and effects will not function properly. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start

Thelma, please check to see what your services are showing compared to the view below. Let us know if you see the same.
