Okay, I am running W7 Ultimate 64-Bit. I have been searching for a week for this driver, downloaded many apps, but non of them worked. Some displayed card not detected and such. I tried to use compatibility mode but no difference. The name of the card is exactly "Sound Blaster 5.1" not VX and the other ones. Please help.

Welcome to seven forums and thanks for filling out your system specs. Have you tried any of the creative drivers on this sticky? Creative Sound Cards. I just came accross this creative sound card win 7 avalibility chart dated 10/30/09 and didn't see your card. http://support.creative.com/kb/showa...aspx?sid=61105 This is in no way to say it can't be made to get working. stormy13 knows more about these cards and I woulld reccomend PMing him. elite999 if you see this I'm not sure what to tell you for drivers for that card. From what I have seen about it it was only available in limited markets with the only Creative site I have ever seen it being the Asian one,
Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 Sound Card - High-quality surround audio
and has its own driver. I had a quick look at the last driver for that card and can't say that I have ever seen one that uses one called P16X (seen P17 and P16 (no X)).Pretty sure that from the date of the last XP driver and looking at the dates on some of the files in it, I think I can safely say that there will never be a Windows 7 driver for it; doubt that you would even be able to find a modded driver for it.
I dumped Win 7 for this issue. I too own a SB 5.1 and gave up Win 7 due to non-availability of driver. But, in my case, the sound card works, only the CMSS doesnt show up in order to increase the SW sound. Due to this, all speakers worked fine but without any bass.
Anyways, I eventually installed the 32 bit version. Thanks guys for everything.
