Audio goes off, and I have to reinstall the drivers

Today it has happened 4 times. Audio goes off randomly, and I have to reinstall the drivers everytime (IDT High Definition Audio Codec). What can I do?

Could it be some other program is causing this?
When it goes off, check the Sound Panel, Playback section to see what is set as the default Playback device. The "Speakers" should be set as the default device. If it has switched to some other output, such as digital or HDMI then reset it to "Speakers". That will preclude a reboot (but it doesn't fix the problem/reason).

If there is an HDMI cable plugged in, Windows will automatically switch the sound to the HDMI.

Post a screen shot of the Device Manager, Sound section.

Problem started when I bought a new ac adapter. Is it possible that it is conflicting somehow with my audio speakers?
Today it happened again, but this time it happened when I plugged in my earbuds.
The speakers are set as primary device. Here's the screenshot. The first voice (the one in italian) says: "intel audio for monitors/screens".
