Only one channel outputs on the earphone jack and USB

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad S400, WIN 7, built in Realtek sound card.
on the internal speakers it's fine, but on the 3.5mm jack, and also from an external USB sound card it seems that onle one channel, the L or R, is playing
