    X-Fi Gamer and Win 7 64 problems

    I downloaded alchemy 1.25.10
    console 2.61.0.9
    media source 5 5.25.02
    sb manager 3.21.00

and lots of stuff seems to be different. I was running Vista 32, and everything was great. My main concern is I want to have a program I did before that is not there now. The program allowed you to set up your speakers and tell it the distance of each of the 7.1 sound speakers. Back left is 8 feet away, while back right is 3 feet away. Stuff like that....it made a big difference.

Because I cannot find that program, do I have to download old vista 64 applications? Which one to get the above mentioned part Im looking for. Sorry for being a noob with this, but Ive spent hours looking for this problem, and no one else seems to have it. Auto update does not see any card on my system, and I read a fix about going into safe mode and wiping out everything. When I tried to uninstall the sound card totally, the computer would not run the install disk from Creative Labs for my Gamer. I had to do a system restore in order to get any sound. I would really appreciate help, as Im playing WM2 and the sound would really help if I could hear enemies coming up behind me. Most avi movies that I play using VLC dont seem to run in anything but front speakers, not even 5.1

    Thanks for your help

    ctguy, welcome to the forums.

What you are referring to is the THX Console. You can get it and the rest of the apps (minus the Media Source Player, have to download that from Creative) from the link in #4 here,

    Creative Sound Cards.

SB Live! series Support Pack 1.5 (08/09/2009)

    Options

    08-14-2009 07:49 AM
This software/driver pack is unofficial, not supported by Creative Labs.
Use it at your own risk.

Supports any model of the following Sound Blaster cards (based on Emu10kx DSP):

    - Live! (4.1) - all models
    - Live! 5.1 - all models
    - PCI 512

Host-based Live! 24-bit card is not supported, click here for a compatible version.

    Operating systems supported: 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows 7 / Vista SP1 & SP2 / XP SP3

WARNING: The included driver supports up to 2Gb of RAM on Windows 7 / Vista

Applies to both 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows 7 / Vista.

In case more memory is installed, you will experience sound issues and your system will crash randomly.

32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows XP are not affected.

    Included in the pack:

    - Live! series driver 2.18.0011.6
    - Audio Console 1.20.57 (Windows 7 / Vista only)
    - SoundFont Bank Manager 3.21.00
    - Surround Mixer 2.00.55 (Windows XP only)
    ****************************************************************

In your link, I went to #4, which was the above......It mentions

Audio Console 1.20.57, but not THX Console....Same thing?????????

Also I have 12 gigs of ram....and this thing has a warning about anything over 2?

If I download the whole pack, can I just pick out the audio console and not everything? I guess I can do a system restore point, d/l the pack and if things dont work out, I can go back. Thanks for help!!!!!!

is the one I ended up downloading.....I saw that it had the THX Console that I wanted.
it still has 27 minutes left to d/l, so now I will go check #3 to see if its the same thing. I have two sons, they are grown now, but I know what you mean. I thank you for your help.

Yep....just went back to #3 and saw it was the same. So now all my utorrent and soundcard problems are gone, and I can do a full system Image copy and not worry about my new computer for at least 20 minutes or so.

Thanks so much, and I should not be bugging you anymore for at least the above mentioned time frame.......Until we meet again!!!!!!!!!!
