    here's a question hope to see if someone knows the answer.
    My gateway p fx gives audio trough hdmi fine by using the integrated in audio card.
    I'm looking forward to buy an X-FI card and was wondering if i connect the laptop trough hdmi will i run into some issues? will i hear audio even if i use the creative card?

    Exactly what set up do you have? Usually, the HDMI port is on the video card. Some Video cards have their own on board audio (e.g. the HD4850 video card I have) and some pickup S/PDIF from a connector on the motherboard.

I have a 5.1 system and I play it through the Sound Blaster X-Fi MB audio card. As I'm playing a stereo file in Winamp, I have enabled CMSS 3D upmixing (surround). It would play in the surround (upmixed state) for a while and if I play any movie on VLC and return to Winamp, the CMSS 3D won't play...

hi I have the above sound card installed and when I play music the music is nice and loud but when I talk on the mic then then the mic is very quiet and people can hardly here me. Is there a mic boost facilty on this card?? I have installed the most up to date drivers I use this sound...

So these just popped up in windows update today, and I'm wondering, my sound performance is fine right now, do I risk this driver update? Is it solid?
