Realtek HD Audio optical output

Hi!

I have a little problem, with my notebook.
I've installed Win 7, and it's working fine, except that there is an optical jack output on my notebook, but I can't use it, because the I can't see it on the Realtek HD audio manager.
With XP, it worked fine. And when I plug in the optical cable, the software defines it as a headphone....
The audio hardware is Realtek HD Audio (ALC883), and it an msi s262x notebook (with Realtek R2.16 vista driver).

If you have some good ideas please tell me.
Thank you.

I have the same problem with the via sound driver.
It loses the sound after there hasn't been any sound for about 5 minutes. What i do is disable the driver and then renable the driver and then it works.
Try a previous driver because the latest one on my board doesn't pick up my optical but the previous one does.
