Bad sound after ripping audio cd

Friend of mine has bought a brand new Toshiba with Windows 7.
Used Windows media Player en also tried Media Monkey to rip original audio cd's.
    Results are crackling mp3 files.
Bitrate tested: 128, 192, 256 and 320.No difference here. Al bad sounding "hissy" sounding mp3 files.
Thing is that it does not occure with all cd's.
but at least half a dozen.

    That's peculiar.

Are all songs on a given CD bad, or only certain songs?

If only certain songs, is it always the same certain songs on a given CD?

Are the bad songs bad even on the second or third rip attempt with a given ripping program?

Are the bad songs bad if you rip to WAV files?

Can you try another free program such as CDex?

What encoder is your ripping application using? Lame is generally recommended and is what CDex uses. If you are using Lame, is it a recent version?

    pfew, lots a questions!
    I wil ask him tomorrow.

Complete cd's are bad bytheway. But on his old supermarket notebook(MEDION) there was no problem with any of the cd's.

    Interesting ain' it?
    i was thinking,maybe its a 44,100/48.000Khz samplerate problem ?
