Windows 7: Mixer is too big

I keep the mixer window open all day because I need to change the speakers master volume frequently, and I do not want to right-click the tray icon volume control every time I need to change the volume. I just need what every release of windows used to have - a small simple mixer. But Windows 7 as we know has a mixer that allows you to change volume on any open application that uses sound, which means it is very wide. Does anyone know of any way to have a mixer that only has one slider?
