    audio distortion


    i recently installed windows 7 on my comp and it runs great i love it
    but maybe 2 or 3 times a day my audio like goes to i high frequency and gradually gets to a deep voice for whatevers playing in the back ground the only way to stop it is to shut down and restart
    ive tryed redoing all my drivers ive tryed not using my onboard audio and got a sound card but it still happens
    so if anybody knows anything it will be greatly appreciated

    I have the same Intel M/B on my system. Slowdown and speed up on many PC's is the wrong driver and if the default Windows installed drivers were used that could be the problem. The first thing, did you install the Intel chipset drivers? If not that is one issue as they must be installed as they define (identify) the devices on or attached to the motherboard. Actually the chipset drivers should (must) be installed before installing the sound (and some other devices). Intel doesn't have much in the way of drivers for Win 7 on the downloads but in the case of the SigmaTel (IDT) the Vista drivers will work (and even provide the System Mixer).
