Windows 7: Need help with Sabrent SBT-SP6C No Sound Issue

what kind of speakers are you using

They are just Dell speakers that I have tested and work fine.

are they amplified with volume control

nice i got this to work just now. it wouldn't let me install the drivers at first but i just went to the device manager and looked for them manually without going thru the driver setup. thanks for the info.

old post but will do an update. ( i found the chip is CMI8738SX) (my pci port scanner and mag light , looking)
windows drivers, are basic speaker 2 channel ok. but mic dead. turn on mike test. and BSOD.

for Windows 7 32bit, install says, wrong platform. setup.exe admin mode.
so i tried vista. , it installs and works and get NEW nice sound mixer.
microphone starts working very well, and i can use Skype, but if you click the MS task bar speaker icon, BSOD. BOOM, like clock work. ( a bad driver this is)
i did find the drivers at CMI web site and will test them.
all i need is 2ch, audio speakers and mic, noting else, needed for skype.

the Sx is only 4.1 channels, the LX and MX are 5.1 and MX has SPDIF out.

what ever MS certified , its not this driver. for the record. more later. on oem chip drivers.
imo, 64bit is hopeless if 32b is DOA.
