You should try the motherboard drivers if you already haven't.

The Realtek HD audio is built into the mobo, so it needs their specific driver.

well the problem is that there is no sound, video and game controllers icon. i had before but since my sound doesn't work it just disapeared

Can you go to Start/search and type cmd then right click the little command icon above,right click and run as admin.

The Dos prompt will appear. Then at the blinking cursor type sfc/scannow >enter which will look for any missing files you might have lost. It will take some time to complete the scan.

For drivers try the Acer site, just choose notebook,aspire then 7520, then choose your Op system. You might try reinstalling the chipset drivers or audio drivers if you can find them.

is yours a 7520 or a 7520G the standard 7520 does not show audio drivers for 7 but the 7520G does here is a link to Acer site drivers for 7520G

open your laptop chassis and remove the cmos battery for 10 minutes. maybe this will help maybe it won't but occasionally afterward it will find all of your hardware again, then you can proceed to make sure the drivers and everything else is set.
