    Razor Barracuda

Has anyone got the razor barracuda AC-1 sound card working with the razor gaming headphones?

I'm using Windows 7 64bit Build 7048 and for the life of me I can't get them working properly. I've tried all sorts of drivers nothing works properly.
    I'd appreciate any input

    thanks

I don't think the barracuda worked right in Vista too. Only works in XP. Has RAZOR stopped supporting their audio card? I'll be pissed if they did. Their drivers suck. They should outsource their programing to someone that knows what they're doing.

Same problem here. Do you gents have a work around other than the built-in audio on most MBs? Thanks.

    UPDATE:
Razor claims they will have support on these dates:

It would appear the knuckleheads at Razor are:

    • too stupid to make a driver for Windows 7
    • want to alienate users who purchased their soundcard
    • don't want to sell anything in the future to Barracuda users
    • all of the above

It looks like they are giving us the middle finger on a driver.

May not work but have any of you guys with these cards tried the driver from Auzentech for the X-Meridian?

Auzentech, Inc. Sound Cards. Audio You Can Believe In. World First soundcards for Music, HTPC, and Gaming.

which uses the same C-Media CMI8788 chip as the Razer card. If it doesn't work it may just be a matter of adding the Razer's DevID to the INF.

Failing that give the reference CMI8787 (it lists several 8788 DevID's in the INF) driver straight from C0Media a try,

    C-Media Electronics, Inc.

Thanks, will try that when I get home tonight.

Razor is really pissing me off with their driver support for this card.

be more like their lack of pushing C-Media to provide them with the driver. If Auzentech can get a working Windows 7 driver for their card using the exact same audio chip as the Razer, then there is no excuse for Razer not to have one as well (Bgears and their B-Enspirer which uses the same chip again also has 7 drivers up).

It would appear Razor has popped their collective heads out of their asses long enough to release a driver for our worthless cards.

Anyone interested in beta testing their driver can go here:
