Hi. This is my first post here, because after a week of trawling the internet and reinstalling drivers
, I have still not found a solution. I installed Windows 7 Professional over XP MCE on my 3 year old computer. Initially, Windows 7 detected and installed my sound card (onboard Realtek HD Audio).
However, every reboot, it decided to reinstall these drivers. I downloaded the 2.37 drivers from Realtek, and these seemed to work for a time, until windows media player crashed when trying to play a sound file after coming out of sleep. The windows sound options also usually crashed, and rebooting also hung on the 'shutting down' screen.
I then tried the 2.40 drivers. These initially looked more promising, however after coming out of sleep, Windows would reinstall the driver
. Programs could produce sound without crashing, though. Until today, when now the 2.40 driver has started to have the same symptoms as 2.37! I have now reverted to the microsoft HDAudio.sys, which also crashes out of sleep, but the drivers install themselves faster every startup.
I had no suspend problems in Windows XP, and have tried disabling hybrid sleep mode. The manufacturer website only has drivers up to Windows Vista, and these were released in 2007. Any help appreciated!
