    Sound Clips/stutters after installing Win7

A few weeks ago I upgraded my HP laptop from Vista Home Premium 32bit to 7 Professional 32bit using a clean install. Ever since that install, the sound makes a small or noticeable clip/stutter every minute or so whenever I play music. Its been getting annoying, and I don't know how to get rid of it.

Its been doing this since I've installed Win7. When I installed Win7, windows provided its own basic drivers for everything except my display driver. I noticed the problem, I figure it would disappear after I installed the Realtek drivers.

A week or so ago, Windows Update provided me with realtek drivers. I believe the driver helped, but not much. The problem is still noticeable. I registered to this website and found that new drivers were out (2.40). I installed that, but it didn't get rid of the problem (I think it even made it worse). Windows update noticed I changed drivers and asked me to install the previous one I had again. I did.

I believe this only happens when I play music. This problem occurs with iTunes and Pandora.com (stream radio using Flash). I haven't noticed it when I stream or play videos online (flash or WMP). I haven't noticed it when I am playing music through Windows Media Player.

I installed Ubuntu and it currently sits on a different partition. Ubuntu does not share the same issues as Windows 7 is experiencing at all. Ubuntu was installed after I noticed the problem.

    I can't test this on a game, I don't have any installed.

    Summary:
    Vista: No sound problem
    Win7+basic sound driver: yes
    Win7+supplied realtek driver: yes
    Win7+newest realtek driver (2.40): yes
    iTunes: yes
    Pandora.com (using flash): yes
    Streaming videos with flash: yes
    Streaming videos using WMP: yes
Music through WMP: don't think so (maybe I've just been lucky)
    Ubuntu 9.10 (any situation): no

Sometimes the problem is worse than other times. One day it will happen badly every 15 seconds, another day its barely noticeable at all. Right now I'm playing music through pandora, and its only stuttered once in the past 20 minutes. I've only just started playing music with WMP and i haven't noticed a problem yet; Today is a good day to play music I suppose.

    Its just annoying.
