Windows 7 Wont recognize my microphone :(

    Windows 7 Wont recognize my microphone :(


    I'm using realtek ac'97 sound card and headset.., i tried to plug 3 microphones and none of them work. i downloaded loads of drivers.. nothing helps:\

    How do you know the mics don't work? Do the greens bars show up to the right of the device in Sound when there is input?

    yeah.. for a second when i plug it in.. but when i speak i cant see any effect.., its weird because it works on my laptop which also have windows 7.

    Right-click on Microphone and select Properties. What are the levels set to?

    100% volume unmuted

    Take your mic boost to +20 dB and see if you get signal then. You can also listen to your output through your speakers and see if you hear anything.
