GN9350 USb not found in device manager

    Hi guys

new to this forum, Help please.

Ive got windows 7 running on a dell 760 machine, 4gb ram, 1.5tb disk.
Windows is running as it should, few random issues. problem here problem there.. Nothing a reboot or kill task wont resolve.

Ive got a GN9350 usb headset, works really well on XP.

Ive plugged into the windows 7 machine and for some odd reason its not working.
Device manager shows as 'usb audio device' and 'unable to start device'
Ive tried to download jabra pc suite in an attempt to upgrade the firmware but that just doesnt work, (jabra firmware software)

I've read about changing the USB drives from an xp machine and updating the registry. I attempted that but still no joy.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to get the device to work or where to start to debugging this?

Hello oldskoolsandhu, I've also recently upgraded to windows 7 and an owner of a GN9350 headset, the problem you are having is the same as mine. Through a little bit of research, I've found that the older models of the headset require an upgrade of the EEPROM in order to work with windows 7, as windows 7 enforces a DRM check on all USB devices, Jabra offers this service free, as I am told, at least till the end of this month.
You can call GN/Jabra Technical Support line at 1-800-327-2230 & let them know that you will be sending your product in for a “Windows 7 Upgrade”. This is a FREE service. They will give you an order #. Then you will ship your product to:

    Jabra – Windows 7 Upgrade
    ATTN: GN Repair Center
    77 Northeastern Boulevard
    Nashua, NH 03062

You can also check the bottom of the reciever for a product number, under the barcode, if the 4th digit is not an "I" then it's not vista compatible, also, I've learned that sometimes even if you do not have an "I" as the 4th digit, if the product was manufactured after Jabra purchased GN Netcom it will most likey work, the only way I know of to check this is to check the bottom of the base/reciever to see if it says www.gnnetcom.com or www.jabra.com , I hope this helps you out, I just sent mine in this morning

I just called Jabre today and they told me that it would cost USD 110 to get the upgrade.
