5.1 - sound only coming from 2 speakers in windows 7

    I installed the latest drivers last night but still had no luck.

    OK now, uninstall the existing AUDIO driver fully from the Laptop. Visit the below link and select the accurate model and download the Audio drivers. I see that the drivers are available :)

    They are the drivers that my laptop came installed with but the problem was still the same with them

    I understand, but just want you to try reinstalling :)

    OK in the below website. I see that they have given the Realtek driver version 2.30 which is for your 8 channel ALC 889 driver, on your Laptop. The latest version is 2.41 which you have installed.

    RealTek ALC889 Driver Download

    So try installing this. Sometimes the old version of the drivers will fix the issue :)

    Note: You will get two installer files in the ZIP download. Just install the Audio driver and ignore the other software.

    O yes I remember now, when I installed the latest drivers, the realtek control software dissapeared and I couldn't find it anywhere nor install it, so I had to do a system restore. Sorry, I was so tired last night when I did this, that I forgot all about it

    Well I won't be home till around 10pm (GMT) tonight to i'll try it then and let you know

    EDIT: I just checked the Acer drivers website for windows 7 (64bit) drivers and there is only audio drivers for the HDMI audio output

    Okay no issues.

    And I was about to ask if its 32 or 64 Bit. OK then, am leaving too. Hope it will work !!!
