Realtek sound just disappeared, no icon, nothing

I'm using the intel dx58so board and 7600 x64 ultimate. I was playing the latest call of duty game yesterday and stopped to take a nap, when I woke back up there was no sound, and even with it set to display disabled and disconnected devices the sound portion of control panel had no recollection of there being a realtek driver. I also lost the icon on the system tray which was the realtek hd audio controller.

Did you try rebooting? and if you did, did the reboot take care of it?

Rebooting did not fix it it. I installed and reinstalled the drivers, however I cant figure out how to uninstall them.
