    audiodg.exe 50% CPU usage

    Hi,
For about the past month I have been battling this problem, along with stacsv64.exe. In either case, they take up >50% of my CPU which makes it very frustrating. I have been searching through a lot of forums and have tried downloading multiple drivers. They have been temporary fixes, but keep reoccurring. I am led to believe that IDT doesn't like Windows 7 64-bit, heh. If anyone could point me on a better direction, please do so. Until then, I will keep trudging along.

    Are you using this driver?

IDT High-Definition Audio CODEC Driver - HP Customer Care (Canada - English)

Looks like the fix is twofold.

Use Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services to disable (manual may work as well) stacsv64.exe, then reboot.

Turn off all of the MS effects processing (EQ, Environments...etc) under speakers/properties/enhancements.

Still, try the fix I posted. I think Stacsv64 is not a required process for audio to work. Then disable any effects processing.

Check whether you have any "enhancements (sound effects)" enabled. They can chew up a lot of CPU time. Right click on the speaker icon next to the clock > Playback devices > double click on the device that is default (green mark) > Enhancements tab > check the box in front of "Disable all sound effects".

K well, I think i fixed it on my own. I redownloaded all my drivers for my computer, including a couple of new drivers that are not listed on hp's website for recommended downloads. Apparently, i was downloading a sound card for vista instead of W7. Thanks guys
