No Speaker Detection On Fresh Install.

First off let me say this is the 2nd laptop that I've installed windows 7 on that has had this same problem and to this day it also hasn't been resolved.

So before windows 7 I had XP. Everything worked fine. Once I installed 7 I get a red x on my speaker in the bottom right corner. Now as soon as I plug in some headphones It works great. When I unplug the headphones I can quickly hear the music that I was listening to come from the laptop speakers.

In the playback settings the only device I have to choose from is headphones. Even with "Display Unused Devices" or whatever that's called is enabled I only get the one option.

Drivers are up to date. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a few times. I've searched all over the internet and no one has had this issue.

    I'm on a Gateway Model: MA6.

Has anyone had this issue? It's pretty frusterating....thanks
