Sound will be sound. Depends on your sound card and speakers...

I doubt there will be any marked difference. Perhaps a few improvements here and there.

Well, you can get iTunes for Windows 7. (iTunes for Windows 7 - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com)

But there is an article here by Larry Osterman. "Larry is a developer on the Devices and Media team which is where we work on audio, video, bluetooth, and all sorts of cool features for connecting up devices to Windows."

    Sound with Windows 7

I have been having issues with the sound just as I did with vista when it first came out. Well not as bad as vista, with vista I had no sound at all for the first 2 weeks until a microsoft update came along and bailed me out. I think thats the first time I actually started liking the updates from microsoft.

This time I am having a problem with the front jacks and the microphone jack in the back with the auto detection. I use the Realtek chipset AC97 codec and they need to create a tool to disable the auto detection from realtek. I guess since there the driver manufacturer it's there problem to keep up with microsoft.

So if anyone knows how to correct this then please let me know.. Thanks

I would think there would be a total lack of info out there about this. I would suggest that you might even be the local authority at the moment. If you do figure it out tell us!

I have noticed one enhancement and one downgrade. The bad first: The audio skips, pops and crackles every few minutes when I am multitasking and playing music, this did not happen in Vista, and it is happening with my Realtek Integrated sound card and also the Bose Companion 5 USB sound device. On the other hand, back when I was using Vista, if I was listening to music on my laptop speakers with the Realtek sound card and all of a sudden I decided to connect my Bose speakers, WMP or Zune would stop playing music, it would tell me there was no sound device found and then I had to close and reopen the APP. Right now, if I were to plug the Bose Companion through USB, the sound gets automatically redirected to it.

    hello

windows 7 has got wmp 12 integerated. Sound and video is as usual. It should also have included change option of aspect ratio, where u can watch 16:9 videos in 4:1 ratio i.e., full screen instead of the regular mid screen rectangular window. VLC Media player has got such an option.

Secondly, now playing tab is not on the main window pane of wmp 12. U have to go to view tab - now playing or ctrl +3.

Do remember to change hardware acceleration of graphic card if video freezes while playing in wmp 12. For that right click on desktop area, screen resolution - in this window - choose advanced settings - in the next window - choose troubleshoot - in the next window - choose change settings - then the hardware acceleration windows will open drag the tab to none.

You are right. I sent some of that as feedback for improvement to Microsoft but I doubt they will change WMP12 that much. Did you do the same? It has been improved though. It can play a lot more formats now.
