Have you tried using a driver cleaner? Uninstall all creative drivers and run the driver cleaner in windows safe mode. Also do not install the x-fi drivers from windows update. Hide the update asap to make sure windows doesn't install it either.

Edit- You can also try moving the x-fi to another slot if all fails.
