Realtek HD Audio, PC input yes/ HDTV input no

ALC 888 codec
Latest driver 2.46 installed
F7 bios installed

Sony Bravia LCD,

If I'm using the PC input on LCD, sound works great.
If I'm using an HDTV input on LCD, no sound.
Anybody got any ideas about this?
Would really like to use an HDTV input, picture definition is so much better in 1080i.

TY

If you have an HDMI OUTPUT on your PC, on many you have to manually set the HDMI on the Video card as the default playback device, rather than the usual "speakers". Go to the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Sound Panel and on the Playback you will probably have an icon for the HDMI, select that as the default playback device and you should get the PC audio in the HDMI signal.
