    sound card problems windows 7 32bit

    hi ive been having this sound card problem and i keep getting the message;

    'no output audio device is installed'

    when i look at the device manager two ! come up. Im not sure what this all means.

    There's a print screen of what i can see.

    I have tried talking to hp about it, but even with their drivers put in the compatibility mode for xp or vista it still does not work.

    if anyone can help me, it would be great because i am dying without sound =(

    cheers

    You need to open the properties window for those devices with exclamation points and tell us what the errors are. It's likely that they don't have compatible drivers installed. In that case you need to download drivers compatible with your version of 7 (32/64bit).

    The driver for your audio card in Vista:
    HP Compaq d530 Convertible Minitower Desktop PC- ADI AC97 Integrated Digital Audio Driver for Microsoft Windows Vista (32-bit) - HP Business Support Center

    You may be able to use that w/out compatibility mode, but maybe not. From what I can tell, there are no Windows 7 drivers for that sound card.

    cheers mate.

    The error message on the properties bar says; 'The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

    To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver. '

    I clicked update driver it doesn't work. Also i installed the driver link you gave me, and it installs then has the message;

    'the audio driver files do not support your computer hardware'

    So im not sure what is wrong with it, i don't think the HP drivers work as i have tried them and IT support with HP doesn't know what the problem is, thus why im here.

    Try installing the drivers in vista compatibility mode... Compatibility Mode
