Win 7 64-bit, ati 3650 hdmi - "not plugged in"
Hello!
After browsing through dozens of similar topics on the web, I'm beginning to get desperate, but I'm going to ask for a solution anyway.
My setup:
- Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit - clean install
- Asus EAH3650 Silent graphics card with 2 DVI connectors (grey and yellow)
- Samsung 226BW monitor connected via the grey DVI connector with DVI to DVI cable
- LG LCD Full HD TV, connected via the yellow DVI connector, using the OFFICIAL yellow DVI-to-HDMI dongle that came with graphics card and HDMI to HDMI cable.
* Using this setup I had a perfect 1920x1080 picture on the TV with audio, when running Windows XP and TV connected as a second monitor, using extended desktop mode.
The problem:
- No audio via the HDMI connection.
- On Windows 7, the HDMI audio device status is always "Not plugged in". I cannot set it to be the default audio device, that option is grayed out.
Attempted solutions:
- Installing the latest Win7 64 bit drivers for my card (with hdmi audio driver) from the ASUS website.
- Installing the earliest available Win7 64 bit drivers for my card (with hdmi audio driver) from the ASUS website. :)
- Installing the Realtek drivers for ATI HDMI audio device.
- Installing the Microsoft HDMI audio drivers via Windows Update.
- Disabling the onboard AC'97 audio
More info:
- One thing that can be related to this problem is the fact that in Catalyst Control Center my TV connection is recognized as DTV (DVI) when, I suppose, it should be DTV (HDMI).
- On the other hand, I don't think that the HDMI Audio device should have the "not plugged in" status, even if the HDMI cable is not connected.
I would appreciate any clue that will lead to a solution of this problem.
Thank you in advance!
