Misbehavior of sound system in window 7

    Hi,
Everyone i'm new to this forums, and this is my first post.
I have HP PAVILLION DV 2000 which was window xp before,so i upgrade to windows 7 since then when ever my system goes in sleep mode, the sound disappears.I have to reboot the system to get the sound back.

Is this normal characteristic of window 7 or any setting is required ?

other thing is while using head phone, the sound comes from speakers too.

I can't understand how to get rid of these two problems, any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

You probably just need to go to HP and download the audio driver, and install it.

Let us know if you need help

Yes, it is a known problem.

Microsoft had posted an -Optional- update that supposedly helped with this.

Also, look in device manager and see what kind of built-in audio system your system has.

Common types: Realtek, SIS, VIA, etc...

    Hi,
You just need to check out your Playback Settings. Set Default Communication Device.
Here you can find very detailed instructions with pics, if you have trouble:

Did you go to Microsoft update and look through the optional updates?

If you don't know what kind & make of audio driver then chances are they are not up to date.

If you look in Device Manager under sound it will tell you the Make, also... launch System Info, that will also tell you the kind of audio device you have.
