I don't believe this is a driver issue. I too have been getting the same sound clipping after upgrading to WIN 7. All steps were taken to have a fresh install and that all updates were current. I get clipping when watching anything I own or have on my HD. I have no issues when I am streaming anything. I have tried every different type of media player but with the same issue. I also notice small distortion when I am resizing a window or using several programs at once. I'm chalking these problems up to WIN 7 and I am hopeful to find more information on this issue. I have searched endlessly on this topic and I am starting to see more and more people having this same problem so I'm hopeful. Thanks for reading!

I noticed the SVCHost file in my case is consuming my computers CPU, I checked the services tied to it while it was hogging and noticed they were continuously changing, as if it were loading content. It seems window 7 boots, and continues to load additional services after you log on. However it still occasionally burdens down the CPU during other events but not as bad. I tried uninstalling anything put in recently and had no luck, including c++ libraries and such. I will figure it out... eventually haha.

I'm unsure if the sound distortion is getting better or worse, but I can tell you this: logging on sure goes a lot faster now. Makes me wonder how many other non-essentials I can get away with disabling.
