HTPC audio on receiver quits when TV is turned off
Hope someone here can help me with a strange issue.
I have a brand new Acer Aspire Revo R3610 on Windows 7 that I connected to my Denon AVR 3808 receiver through HDMI. The receiver is connected to a Loewe TV.
Everything works reasonable well after some tinkering (expect for some stutters on HD movies with VLC and some songs on iTunes).
However, when I use the Acer as iTunes audio server, I turn the TV off to save energy. Then, after a few minutes, the receiver stops playing the audio.
The pc works like normal. If I turn on the TV again and switch back and forward to the proper HDMI channel, I get normal video and (after some time) audio. So the problem is probably somewhere in the receiver that stops transmitting the HDMI signal because there is no monitor available. Is there a way to get around this?
