Problem with Audigy and optical IN

Hi, i have a problem, i have a sound blaster audiy platinum (1st series), windows 7 x64 and a tv with audio optical out.
I want to use optical IN of my audigy to listen the audio from tv to my 5.1 speaker of computer. The problem is that i can't hear the audio of tv and i don't know why. I try to go in: control_pannel-hardware_and_sounds-sounds-tab_recorder and i see that all of the name in the list are not ready, all but S/PDIF IN that is ready. The line next to S/PDIF IN (line that show the sound's level) is always gray, such as it don't receve audio.
    Anyone can help me, please?

    Sorry for my english.

    Hi Kykkus,
One thing you could try is to update your drivers. Be sure that they're for 64.
If everything else is working, S/PDIF IN should work too..

Are you sure you have an S/PDIF INPUT? Most of the cards in that era only have an S/PDIF OUTPUT from the PC.

    Hi again Kykkus,
    Just remembered..
Check out the Audigy's own mixer settings. Your S/PDIF may be muted there.

I see S/PDIF I/O on the external "Audigy Drive" unit but not on the basic sound card. Is this what you have? I had a later Audigy 2 Platinum Ex model with the external "Audigy Drive" unit and it had the Optical I/O connections. Considering the age of this unit it could have malfunctioned and the reason the Optical no longer works. The Audigy Drive module in mine died and sadly I had to upgrade to a new model sound card as the Audigy line has been discontinued.

As I suspected you have the model with the "Audigy Drive". Considering the age of the unit it's not surprising that it's not 100% Windows 7 compatible. Your best option, to do what you want, is to upgrade to a new sound card that is fully Windows 7 compatible. The HT Omega Striker 7.1 sound card has both optical S/PDIF input and output and is Windows 7 compatible - both 32 bit and 64 bit. HT Omega - Striker7.1
