Windows Audio service won't Start Error 1067

I have recently installed Windows 7 on my new computer. My sound drivers are all up to date, and the Device Manager knows they are there and working. However, the Volume Adjuster has the speaker with the red and white cross, and when the audio troubleshooter pops up, it does nothing to fix the problem, just acknowledges that there is one...

So, I looked up solutions, and was told to enable the Windows Audio service. I tried, and got a 1067 Error (Unexpectedly terminated). I have started, and successfully run, all of the dependencies, yet Windows Audio still won't run. I ran the 'sfc /scannow' as I was told that might work, but no luck. I also uninstalled and reinstalled my audio driver numerous amounts of times, still no luck. I'm running out of options, so I came here.

Please, any help would be appreciated.

Did you clean install Windows 7 or upgrade?

Did you format the partition before installing?

I did not. Do you suggest I format everything, and reinstall?

It's *highly* unlikely, but still possible, that some stray files that were left behind actually are interfering with the new installation. I would very much so suggest that you perform clean install by formatting the drive (or, even better, remove all partitions, and let the Windows 7 setup set it up for you automatically....)

formatting / deleting partitions will remove all data from the partition(s) / drive - be sure you want to do this if you already have multiple partitions, else select only the ones you want to remove / format.

Hmm... highly unlikely? Are there any other reasons this could be occuring? I'd really rather not have to reinstall and delete everything I have.
