    Compress audio files?

My car radio plays only cd audio format NO mp3 or anything else.
So i can only create a audio cd with max of 10-15 songs
Is there any <<trick>> or program to add more audio files in a single cd?
Is there any program to compress my mp3s without loosing quality?
Is it possible to play a DVD in my car CD player?

In the first line you say "NO" mp3 or anything..So what format does it use?

There are many "tricks" but all result in quality loss

We need the specs on the unit to be able to tell you

We need as much information as you can give us

I'm pretty sure that if only accepts the CD audio format, than you're kinda stuck.

The only way to make them smaller without losing quality is if you had the original CD's, and you re-ripped them to a smaller size. If you try to convert existing lossy files, you'll lose quality with each conversion.

The mp3 format is compressed, you have already lost audio quality by converting from 44.1kHz/16-bit WAV to mp3.

A standard Redbook audio CD is basically wav files.... so when you write mp3 files to an "audio" CD they are converted back to wav files. Depending on the compression used a 6MB mp3 (192 kbps) file is converted to a 48MB wav file before, or as it's being written to CD, that's why you can only get 10-15 songs on a CD.

Newer CD players will play MP3 CD's but these are basically a Data disk, not a standard audio CD.

Your CD player is limited to standard uncompressed 44.1/16-bit audio, and will not be able to read a DVD audio disk.

Remember... mp3 format is one type of lossy compression, definitely not an audiophile format but works fine for most modern music.

oops.. I see noobvious covered most of it, sorry about that...
