No Audio and RPC Server Unavailable

After installing several WIN 7 updates I lost my audio, (Creative Audigy).
In checking the services, I found that when I try to start the Audio service, I find that all dependencies are working except, "Windows Audio Endpoint Builder"

When I try to start it, I get, "ERROR 1722 RPC Service Unavailble"
In checking RPC service I find that it is running.

When I disable the Audigy and use the Motherboard audio, I get the same result, no audio.

Anybody have an idea? I have checked many forums, even Microsoft, to no avail.

    Hi Vamark,
If you have no audio at all, it must be the drivers. If audio works with everything else, I found you a possible solution from this forum:
"Windows Audio Endpoint Builder" service will not start

Thaaaaaank YOU!!!! On checking your link, I found that the, "power" service was disabled. After setting it to automatic, I was able to start "Audio endpoint builder" and the, "Audio" services"

I have no idea how the, "Power" service got disabled. This all started after I downloaded and installed 4 updates from Microsoft. I wonder if this happens only when using a Creative Audigy board with Win 7 drivers?

Thanks for the help. I think I'll pop in a little Pink Floyd.
