Audigy 2 ZS and Microphone problem

Alright guys I am desperate, I have looked through countless websites, forums and advices.

I recently added 2 Gigs of RAM to the 2 I already had in my computer running Windows 7 64bit. Once done, i found that my Microphone that was plugged in my Audigy 2 ZS sound card was making my voice sound "robotic" or like I was underwater.

After some research, I found out that it was a common problem for people using my sound card with Windows 7 64bit and exactly/more than 4 Gigs of RAM. Unfortunately not a lot of people had any solutions.
A popular one that I tried was the Daniel_k drivers, which I had high hopes for, but it did not fix this problem for me.

So I am posting here in hopes that one of you has fixed this problem and can hopefully help me.

The Audigy 2ZS is an "old" sound card and I'm surprised it's even working in Win 7, let alone the 64 bit version. But, the more than 3GB of RAM has affected many SoundBlaster sound cards, even some of the newer Xfi models. The Daniel K drivers do not fix or work with all SoundBlasters, from comments on the Dell forum (Dell used the Audigy 2ZS on many XP systems).

Drop down to 3GB just to test and see if the problem goes away.

The only reason I am using this Sound card is because the Microphone level on my motherboard sound card was unbelievably low and whatever I did I could not get it up. I had my old Audigy 2 ZS sitting in a closet so I thought I would give it a try, and it worked perfectly.
2 months later I installed 2 extra GB of RAM in my system (to get to a total of 4) and I immediately noticed the sound problems with my microphone.

After all this time, I am starting to think that there are no "fix" for this and I might have to start finding other solutions.

There are inexpensive mic and instrument level USB interface units that are used by musicians. Maybe one of those units would give you better mic volume? Check out www.musiciansfriend.com

i have the exact same problem with windows 7 (64) and my audigy 2 and microphone. They all work fine in my XP setup. And i am using Daniel K drivers. How hard is it really for creative and microsoft to make just one set of working drivers for their own gdmn products ? (both working decently hardware wise and with their own software) Maybe in creative they think theres no one out there with an audigy anymore ?? ....... or is it a ...conspiracy maybe to buy new creative cards (yeah right, the hell i am getting a creative product again)

for various reasons many people like or have to keep their audigys. Are the newer ones ....64bit maybe?
