    No Sound on Asus A8V-XE

    Hi,

I'm getting no sound whatsoever on Win7 RC1. I'm new to Win7, but I can't get sound to work on my Asus A8V-XE. I am using the built in sound chip.

Win7 has the driver label as:

Digital Audio (s/pdif), High Definition Audio Device.

    Please help!!!

The first thing to do is right click "computer" got to "manage" and got to "device manager"

See what driver you have. Windows may not have a compatible driver for you.

I don't know if that's Realtek or not but here is their site for drivers.
Latest Realtek HD Audio Driver Version

If not just try going to your manufacturer site and get the latest driver for your sound device.

Hope this helps somewhat....Good luck. That's about all I know about sound. haha.

You have the integrated Audio chipset "SoundMax A 1986A" the same as mine, so use this driver : http://dlsvr01.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mis...10_Vista_n.rar
