    Another Possible Solution

I had this issue too, and solved it thanks to alexrylands tip. I didn't even touch the jack images. Turns out the antivirus (Comodo) that I had recently installed was stopping access to the manager, and since hitting Allow, unplugging and replugging the headphones, it works fine.

    Portable speakers with normal speakers

I brought a Logiteck Laptop Speaker Z205 a few days ago. I was wandering if I can have the logiteck speaker running plus a normal computer speaker( the one that uses an audio jack.) Please help

    Thanks

Bit of a challenge for you

Hey there. I have a HP Pavillion DV2000 laptop (I know) It's my partners laptop and he recently had windows 7 installed, everything was fine until I discovered that sounds play through both the headphones and speakers, even when the headphones are plugged in.

I came across these posts and tried all you suggested but have come up against a roadblock. My laptop is telling me I have 2 microphone devices installed and just the speaker device is installed... no headphone device.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, tried to trouble shoot and even tried re-scanning for device drivers and nothing seems to work.

I have been scouring the internet for days trying to find an answer to my problem, guys you are my last hope. Please bear in mind I'm not technically minded so try to dumb down any responses to me haha.
