    Microphone only works through StereoMix

So I use ventrilo and teamviewer to communicate via microphone, but it has tremendous amounts of echo and reverb. I found out it is because the only way anyone can hear me is because the system is playing my microphone through the stereo mix portion of the recording devices.

If I disable or mute stereo mix and put microphone as default the mic will NOT work any more. Basically if stereo mix is disabled or not selected as the main recording device the mic will not record my voice. I'm looking for any help thanks.

Below is a picture of the two audio tabs and their devices.
I have a Foxconn 915P7AC-8KS motherboard with onboard audio

Just kind of a shot in the dark here :) What does it look like when you hilight stereo mix and hit properties? If you see an enhancment tab, check and see if there is any kind of reverb checked. Is this an onboard soundcard or a soundblaster style? yours will look a little different but this is what I what like you to look for :) Look at the properties for both the recording and playback devices. this is my playback device, I am not at home so I can't look at recording (I don't use one here at work) Also check in the Realtek audio manager to make sure no enhancements have been selected.
