Windows 7 sounds

It used to be an easy task to change the start up and shut down wav sounds, why not anymore? I've run all the same steps I would have on most all other Win Os's, I don't see the option to change the start up wav. Curious though, you do have the choice of shutting off the start up sound with the check box, but you don't have the start up change wav options. Rather all you have is Log on and Log off. How do I change this?

you'll have to roll your sleeves up and do a bit of resource hacking.

i really can't understand why! why can't they make it simple to change a startup sound??
