In your devices manager did you tried to update the driver on the yellow pointed one (search drivers on my computer, not online)?

Uninstall the sound in the Device Manager then restart the PC and when Windows starts it should detect and reinstall it. Sometimes this fixes problems such as this.

In the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for the sound to highlight it and then LEFT click Uninstall. DO NOT check the box to uninstall the drivers. Restart the PC.

If you have kept the folder where were extracted the files...you can aswell update the same manner but choose files on my computer folder! see if its works..

Don't totally trust that the "best driver software for your device is already installed". I ran into that issue with my Dell 170L desktop video driver. Windows update gave me a new driver and I could not get past standard VGA. Rolled Back to original driver (installed in compatibility mode) and got my 1280x1024 back.
Manually install the correct driver if need be from mfg. website
Thanks worked for me with Win 7

Did the speaker work before? Maybe a defective speaker.
